This was a fun personal side project. For quite a while, I had noticed my personal work space was rather dull, and felt uncomfortable. I wanted to thrive in a space where I could constantly feel alive and inspired. I sought to create something that was modern, yet felt hand-created, which would reiterate creativity. Countless hours were spent strategizing the layout of the room and utilizing the space for perfect visual flow and hands-on efficiency. From shelving choices to sewing curtains, every aspect was carefully considered.
The type mural idea came from so many wonderful inspirations I have seen through the years online. I finally seized the opportunity to create one. The mural blends a bit of my style, while paying a bit of homage to one of my favorite typographers. The quote “Never Stop Creating.” is something I believe I have subconsciously lived by, because creating is what I do; and with out creation, I would not feel alive. The Mural was initially sketched on paper, then vectorized, and then illustrated by hand to scale on the wall. Painting the mural in proved to be a challenge as the walls of the room are rough unfinished concrete, however, it definitely aided to the hand-creation ambiance I aimed to create.
